Expressions of interest shown in Southampton's proposed indoor ski facility

Southampton City Council has long held aspirations to secure a regional leisure attraction including an indoor real-snow ski-ing facility. It has now identified the area around the Town Depot in the city centre as its preferred location for this and is seeking a development partner experienced in the delivery of real-snow facilities to bring forward proposals for a mixed use scheme.

The area under consideration occupies a prominent position on the waterfront to the east of the city centre and extends to approximately
8.07 ha (19.95 acres).

The council received 5 completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaire's (PPQ) from interested developers on 28th January, and are now in the process of assessing them in order to produce a shortlist in the spring.
